Drunky Housewarming Jukebox Friday Blogging Because I CAan AND SO WHAT.

Yes yes, thank you all for frowning at the sfoofiemas decorations. They will be taken down when I have some sort of epiphany.

Our house is a very very very fine house and I'm happy. We had a grown up party and I make lovely things and punch was served. People talked about being naked in their houses and Wii Marikart was played. I didn't realize I was on the top of the screen when my turn came around. I went from 12th place to 1st place. I received a billiown awesome bottles of wine.

Then End. ?

Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog

I didn't get around to posting a tune yesterday - pesky "applying for jobs" thing got in the way. It means today I can hook you up with an amazingly fun little thing called "Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog."

From Wikipedia:
Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog is a 43-minute musical film produced exclusively for Internet distribution. It tells the story of Dr. Horrible, the aspiring supervillain alter ego of Billy; Captain Hammer, his nemesis; and Penny, their mutual love interest. The movie was written by writer/director Joss Whedon, his brothers Zack Whedon (a television writer) and Jed Whedon (a composer), and Jed's fiancée, actress Maurissa Tancharoen. The writing team penned the musical during the WGA writers' strike. The idea was to create something small and inexpensive, yet professionally done, in a way that would circumvent the issues that were being protested during the strike.

Neil Patrick Harris is awesome in it and it just the perfect little quirky thing to entertain and delight you all. For 43 minutes anyway. You can see it here, but I'm going to post the fun song "Laundry Day" below for a little sample.

Have a quirky, fun, amazing, and awesome weekend everyone!

3 posts in one day -- because someone's TRAPPED

I'm trapped. I walked to the Y at 9am this morning with only a few inches, but here it is 9pm and over a foot of snow has fallen. I am trapped inside the apartment. The worst part about this is that I totally didn't even know it was supposed to blizzard today. I would have planned yesterday better (oh wait, I was trapped at the eye doctor place.) TRAPPED TRAPPED YOU SEE. I've been calling people and thinking about supplies I must have on hand in the future should I become trapped again. TRAPPED TRAPPED.

*breathe*

Ok. So I'd like to link some more songs for you merry blogfriends to enjoy this evening or whenever. I will hopefully be travelling tomorrow - be unTRAPPED. We're planning on going to Michigan this weekend, but now I am not looking forward to the drive with all this snow.

*breathe*
(ok, this video is just weird)

*Get me through December*
(people set Harry Potter montages to EVERYTHING!)

*A bit more optimism*

*Favorite song to put me at peace*

Whew. I feel better.....

Jukebox Friday: Walking in a winter wonderland..

Happy first day of spring! This is the scene that greeted us this morning. Plus, how lovely is it that it is STILL blizzarding out there. Puke.

I couldn't do a cute bunny spring song for Jukebox...so instead y'all get this

That's just how it's going to be today

Around, helping out, bits n' pieces

Week 1 of retirement (ha) is suiting me quite nicely.

Monday
Kidnapped early 90s yr old great grandma from her assisted living facility. Had to remind her a billion times that it is OK that she has a walker now. Got to hear that the staff at the place are super nice, she folds all the laundry to help out, she cleans up at the bingo events (has a sack of winnings hidden away), and she announces that a lot of them are just "too old" for her to form a friendship with them. When asked if she cared what people think: "Of course not, that is a great thing with being old." She is adjusting much better now. I'm happy.

Enjoyed lunch with the three other generations (great grandma, grandma, mom). Ate fantastic grilled cheese sandwich (homemade bread! cheese!). Talked about crocheting, babies, family, and Project Runway. Told stories. Played cribbage with grandpa and won. Talked about Hilbert, Wisconsin. Drove great grandma back to her room in time for afternoon meds.

Lovely.

Tuesday
Tackled dirty apartment. Started with laundry. Few disasters occurred: Broke a closet door and washed a blanket that was best left unwashed. Fucking lint everywhere. Vacuumed, picked up trash, unpackaged wedding gifts, made a list of projects wishing to be completed. Fucking lint everywhere.

Lovely.

Wednesday
Went to doctor for annual bleck. Bleck bleck. Gave me a Hep A booster. I politely held off on tetanus booster. Had lunch with my new best friend (me) and hung out all afternoon with my new best friend (me). Worked out with former coworker who told me that awful former coworker was fired. Whoo! Justice served. (I mean, she got seven months to correct her habits! Seven!) Watched first episode of Top Chef Chicago. Wondered what Sweet Tea Reduction tastes like.

Lovely

Thursday

Helped Bethy via email with more ideas of GREEN food to serve at her upcoming party. Wished I had a party to plan. Helped Phil to pick out new music to download. Wished I could be full time life & style consultant. Went for a walk in the LOVELY warmer-ish weather. Watched Lost. Felt confused and delighted all at once.

Lovely

Friday
First tinges of boredom. Probaly only because I'm waiting for a new debit card to arrive in the mail (tragically lost debit card last Friday). Hate paying by check. Can't order anything online. (I only have real money to spend - no credit cards). Waiting Waiting. Playing lots of music going through piles of stuff in the bedroom. Piles and boxes.

Jukebox Friday - Must link again ! - sorry kids.

Lovely

Jukbox Friday: Version "I still can't video post"

I still can't get a video "en post", so you will just have to exert force upon your mouse and click this link yourself

I'll even keep this one pretty short.

I like that this can be a new sleepy lullabye. I really like singing lullabyes... especialy when I'm sleepy. Like now. Plus it totally reminds me of my dad. He loves this movie. I've probably seen it more than most 26yr old girls. I never noticed this song in it though!

So, I'm really sleepy. I cannot believe how stressful this week was! I cannot fathom that in 5 more business days, I'm done with it. It is so taxing on my mind. You have to constantly, with NO breaks, multi-task.

Seriously. I have to think about this case and this follow up and that query and answer the phone and this person gone and this person here and call that guy back and work this case and help compose a letter and check licensing for that person and send a TR request because the systems are slow and go off the phone to run that type of quote no I really think I gotta go to the bathroom but first I'll have to make sure that policy goes OVERNIGHT OVERNIGHT but you cant tell it went overnight because the file is marked wrong and WHY isn't this file marked and email the supervisor of that department to assign the case and get this case moved in this system and why aren't the premiums matching and have to find the check that was signed for by Ed in the mail room and the agent is screaming screaming screaming because we. are. so. overworked.

Why do people keep asking me if I'm really going to be OK for an entire month not having to work? I am REALLY going to be ok. The reason I know this is that I have had two full continuous years of this crazed work. I gots it all stored up, thank you very much.

Seriously. This next month I will really take my time organizing things and reading and working out and taking my yoga and having a nice walk and getting a smoothie on Thursdays and checking facebook and leaving comments on Lorraine's blog and taking random pictures and fluffing pillows and cooking a nice dinner and learning how to cook a nice dinner and praying and reading and seeing more of the sun and getting new glasses and seeing my Godmother more and going to the dentist and getting laundry done and watering plants and throwing out shoes and buying a new pair of shoes to replace the ones I threw out and giving myself a pedicure and getting my hair cut and planning for a trip and making kokeshi dolls and going through college papers and singing lullabyes and getting. more. sleep.

I'm still kinda scared, but overall excited. g'night!
