* Today I found some cool looking number sparklers online and upon further investigation, they have a STAR shape sparkler as well! That's awesome right there. Why didn't I find these about a month ago for my birthday? I'm thinking I should just have another birthday. Or some occasion that warrants a star sparkler. I went into "pure glee" mode after I discovered them. I'm weird like that.
What have you found on the internet that made you enter pure glee mode?
* Did you know amazon.com wish list lets you have a "universal wish list" option you can add into your internet experience? Anything I find anywhere online (like, ahem, STAR SPARKLERS) I can add to my wish list and keep all cool things in one place. If you know my full real name you can go to amazon.com and view my wish list. (I can post a link here, but then all the world can view my address and that is just waaaay too much information for me to post publicly.) I have everything on there from magnetic "paper" dolls to wii items to legos and lots of books. Seeing fun stuff I like in one spot makes me smile.
What is on your wish list?
* I bought figs today because they are bubs' favorite fruit. I'd never had a fig before I met him, so buying fun foods like figs makes me appreciative of how much I've grown being with him. I got (and still get) such a rush from learning international things. That excitement is a part of the huge appeal of this man I'm happily stuck with. Did you know how difficult it is to find figs in this city? Have you ever had figs?
* Exactly four years ago I was on a very similar job search. I had suddenly quit the "going-nowhere" security job (yes, laugh away, I was a security officer), and needed something a little more grown up. I still don't regret leaving my recent job in March, but I do wish something could pass by and work out now. How many times can I tweak a resume and question my skills? Can I try something creative? Last time around the job fell really quickly into my lap. I am actively praying for the same results.
What are some traditional and non-traditional avenues I can look to find a job? Would you hire me?
* We are in the process of condo buying and I am completely lost with it all. I know some more details about places that I like better, but I couldn't tell you what a mortgage even is. I guess an idiot like me got lucky marrying a finance MBA guy. I get him figs and he gets us on a solid financial plan. I sometimes believe I'd be renting out a trailer on 7th st back home with my severe lack of financial knowledge. Yee haw!
Please tell me you were/are as lost as me with this?
* This upcoming weekend will include a visit to Chicago. We're hittin up skyscrapers and parks for lots of fun family time.
Aren't you jealous?
* I must end this update to grab lunch and do a bajillion loads of laundry this afternoon. I'm actually going to be going through old college papers and readings during my time at the laundromat so it should be fairly entertaining. I need to reflect on a time where I was intellectual. And completely oblivious to the real world.
Do you still have college/high school stuff that you can't get rid of?

Wow that was a lot of info and questions
Yes I have found stuff in the internet that gave me PURE GLEE! I won't say what, but they are illegal to sell in some states.
I have no wish list. I should get one.
I had a girlfriend from Gibraltor that loved figs...So I tried them, they are okay.
I would hire you as my word twist special agent. I know one trick that works with resumes, Keywords...Computers do all the searching now so they look for keywords.. look at the job description and take all the keywords from it and put them in your resume.
I learned all about mortgage stuff in my 20's ..so you are right on track.
I love Chicago..I am jealous!
I only have my yearbooks..everything else is tossed. I never keep anything tho.
Hi there Sfoofie!
Lets see,
- pure glee...not going where sage went...I found some really cool markers online - sometimes I'm an art supply geek.
- oh I recall the amazon.com wish list, haven't looked at mine in a year or more. books. that would be on mine.
- Yes. Figs are fine.
- sometimes it depends on the job, what you are interested in. In my field networking is pretty important.
- what sageweb said. I've been involved with the purchase of 4 houses so far (oh I've sold or lost them and currently rent, so don't let me give you advice).
- I've only been to Chicago, and the chicago area for work... Didn't get a chance to do any fun stuff, so Yup green with envy!
- high school, might still have some pictures somewhere. Yearbooks for sure. College I still have crap, but it has come in handy when I needed to go back and review technical crap for work. I have CRS in my old age.
1. The sparklers sound awesome! *smiles*
2. I do not like figs. They are not awesome.
3. Good luck on the job search and the condo buying!
4. Can't wait to see ya' this weekend! :)
I like mustard.
See? I can be random too.
My dad and grandma make awesome fig preserves. (They have fig trees in the yard) God, I love that stuff.
If you guys want to visit the roof of Marina Towers while you're here, just give me a holler. It would be great to see you!
Sage: Thanks for the updates and job tips. I would LOVE to be a word twist special agent. Doesn't sound very lucrative though....
CO: The only art supplies that I geek over are crayons. I have a huge bag of them.
MHP: yup, see ya soon!
JP: you crack me up.
Buck: Sadly, figs here are awful. I wish we had better ones here. We sometimes get fig preserves at the middle eastern grocery store - I can only handle a little bit at a time. It would be fun to take the younger sibs up to the roof! I'll suggest it over to MHP. You might have to get up before 2pm on Saturday though! haaaahaaa!!!
Rooftop at Marina City = fun! :)
So what are your plans for Saturday? Your Mom hasn't told me yet...
